London Bound

I am back at school for tonight because tomorrow at 12:00 the Great London Adventure begins. We leave school at noon to go to Atlanta and then we fly to London. Yay. My Christmas present this year was a digital camera. A Canon PowerShot A530. I like it lots. Karen got me a 1 GB card so I can take lots of pictures. I've posed some on my flickr already. If I find an internet cafe in London I may post some while I'm there, but no promises.

Edit: So I have to tell you about my little adventure that I just had. I call it WWMD: What Would MacGyver Do?
So I got back to my dorm room and I had to unlock my door. I've never done that before, I never even used my key because Ashley locked my door when I left. So I turn the key to the right and I feel a lot of resistance so I turn my key to the left and the door opens. I am happy and I prop the door open with my backpack while I drag my stuff it. Then I sit at my computer for a couple hours researching London, watching Doctor Who and whatnot. I also finish sewing my sweater together. Then I get the bright idea to go look at my new sweater in the mirror. There is only one full-length mirror on our hall and it's in the bathroom. So that's where I went, allowing the door to slam shut behind me. After admiring my handiwork in the mirror I return to my room only to discover that it is locked. Now it is still Christmas break and there is hardly anyone around. I've got nothing on me, no key, no card, no shoes. After trying every thin flexible thing that I could lay my hands on I begin to walk the halls in vain hope of finding someone with a key. I did manage to find EJ who is an RA and going to London with me. She was spending quality time with her boyfriend. But it turns out that the RAs only have keys that will unlock the doors on their hall, so no help there. I call numerous telephone numbers with no luck. One of the girls that I had found on my walk down the halls had locked herself out and she had gotten Night Watch to let her in. So I called that number and didn't get an answer. This is after midnight by the way. So I proceed to call Night Watch every half hour. In the meantime I was trying every thing that I could think of to get in my room. I went around and looked at the other doors to see how they worked and I found a bit or wire to work with. I was trying to get the wire to hook over the thing so that I could pull it. Then I got the idea to get some yarn in the door, weight it so that it would drop down to underneath the door, and then pull it up and pull from both sides of the thing. It was a brilliant plan, maybe I'll draw a diagram later. So I ripped out the seam in my pretty sweater and implemented my plan. It took a lot of work and I lost my needle to the other side of the door, but I finally got the yarn where I wanted it to be. Alas the yarn was not strong enough, not to mention the fact that I was wrong about which way the thing faced, the card that I borrowed from Tyler should have worked darn it. Defeated I went down to call Night Watch one more time before settling down to sleep in the lounge. Miracle of miracles I finally got someone. The nice lady came to my rescue and unlocked my door for me. After she left I got my key out and started fiddling with the lock to see what was up. Apparently you have to turn the key all the way to the left and then turn it straight up again before the door will be unlocked. It is a bad system. If you turn the key too far to the right the door locks again, if you don't turn it far enough to the right the door won't unlock. It is probably the dumbest lock ever and I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of other people got locked out of their rooms too.

I'm home

So I learned last week that you loose a lot of sleep over weddings, even when they are not yours. I think that when I get married I'm going to need to set a limit to the number of parties people are allowed to throw for me. I slept most of the way back on sat and I was still tired when I got home.
So to inform everyone I am here for about a week until the 27th when I'm leaving again FOR ENGLAND!!! I'm going to England for eleven days. I'm going to Stonehenge, and Bath, and London, and Dover, and Canterbury. I am excited. Eric is coming too. I'm going to be so exhausted when I get back to school because I probably won't sleep at all when I'm there. We're going to see castles, and cathedrals, and plays, and when I'm not doing all that I'll be getting lost in London or watching BBC. It will be so fun. I can't wait.
If anyone wants to do something this week, you should call me. Otherwise I'll probably just stay at home and sleep, knit and play with Archie.

Surprise, I'm alive

I know that you all thought that I was dead, but I'm not, yet. This next week may kill me. I have a test in History of Life tomorrow, a speech in Comm Friday. Then next week I have take home test for Fine Arts, paper for Comm, History of Life final, Comm final, Group Presentation sans group, Intro to Lit final, and Spanish Final. Yeah I'm most excited about that presentation in Fine Arts. There are three people per group, one dropped out of school, one decided his grade was good enough already and that left me all alone to do a presentation on Stonehenge. I like Stonehenge now, but I expect I won't in a week.
To de-stress I've been spending a lot of time on YouTube with this guy:

who I found because of this guy:

Doctor Who is my hero. I like him lots.

I will be sad when I have to go home back to my dial-up internet. I will miss YouTube. I tried watching Doctor Who when I was at home for Thanksgiving and it took about a half hour to get five minutes. I nearly died. When I go to London at Christmas I will wear scarves and look for police boxes and Doctor Who on DVD. Maybe I'll even buy a Dalek action figure.

Mom is right. I should never do drugs.
